Championship Week Pick ‘Em: Let’s get sloppy drunk to end the year

Hello one and all to the final week of the 2021 MAC Pick ‘Em pool!

Another, and final, apologies for my absence on this the last couple of weeks. Truly just forgot to do it with me giving my newsletter life again, so this Pick ‘Em for the blog went by the wayside during the final two weeks of the regular season.

There’s no going back now, and the only way to finish this thing off is by really juicing up the points for conference championship weekend. For instance, if you get the MAC title game winner & its MAC MVP winner picked correctly, that’s a thousand points in your pocket.

2021 SEASON RESULTS & LEADERBOARD

WEEK 11 RESULTS

Yes, a lot of these results are going to be kinda out-dated.

The one Week 11 game that tripped up everybody that entered a few weeks ago was Ohio over EMU. Most of us (myself included) picked EMU, the favorite, to win the crossover matchup in Ypsilanti. Nine of the ten entrants picked WMU over Akron and Miami over Buffalo correctly. The pool was split on Kent State-CMU.

Closest game ended up being NIU 30, Ball State 29. The popular pick in the pool was Buffalo-Miami.

Highest-scoring game is always a fun one. The popular pick in the room was Kent State-CMU, which did put up 84 total points. However, the highest-scoring game with 85 total points scored is WMU-Akron.

I set the over/under for total points scored by Toledo and Kent State in their respective games at 61.5. Those teams blew that number out of the water with 79 total points scored; everybody picked the over.

I also set Kurtis Rourke’s O/U for pass yards vs. EMU at 210.5. Half of the pool picked over, half picked the under. Rourke finished with 230 pass yards, so overs have it.

LEADERBOARD

There’s been some movement at the top again. Karp re-take the league lead, but only slightly, and was the pool’s top points-haver four four of the 11 weeks in the Pick’ Em.

I’ve made sure that all of the points this week are piss-drunk as possible. Good luck on the final picks of the year!
