Hello one and all. Hopefully things are going good on your end.
Our pool of MAC Pick ‘Em players has a new champion to bow down to. All hail Huron Boy for the time being.
WEEK 8 RESULTS & LEADERBOARD
Nobody in the pool finished last week with a perfect record on their game picks. It was a pretty muddy week too: Everybody except for two finished the weekend with 4-2 records with the other pickers going either 3-3 or 2-4.
100% of the pool was wrong about Western Michigan beating Toledo, but 100% of the pool was right on Buffalo beating Akron and Eastern Michigan beating Bowling Green. Yes, somebody got crazy and picked Ohio to upset Kent State.
New player Keith M. Scheessele was brought on by Fitz, so both of you guys get 15 points as promised.

MY PICKS: WEEKS 9 & 10
REFER A FRIEND
Refer a friend who hasn’t joined this pool yet, and you both will get 15 extra points for their first set of picks. We’ll be doing this every week for the rest of the season.
PICK ALL OF THE MAC TEAMS THAT WILL WIN THEIR GAMES
Last week I went 4-2 on my picks, which isn’t bad considering literally everybody else did. This week, I’m going to bank on Ohio to beat rival Miami. There’s not a lot to truly love about Miami, and I get the feeling that the Bobcats can earn enough big-big plays against MU on the ground.
Also, I’m hoping for big show-me moments out of EMU and NIU. WMU should win against CMU, but the Broncos have dropped some games that they should’ve won this season. Almost predictably.
- Ball State (at Akron)
- Buffalo (vs. BGSU)
- EMU (at Toledo)
- NIU (at Kent State)
- Ohio (vs. Miami OH)
- WMU (vs. CMU)
DOUBLE OR TRIPLE?
These are the three games that I feel most confident in getting right this week. I went 3-0 in the last two weeks, so let’s see if I can get a hat trick this week.
- Ball State at Akron (Ball State win)
- BGSU at Buffalo (UB win)
- NIU at Kent State (NIU win)
MOST LOP-SIDED GAME?
- BGSU at Buffalo
Right now, Vegas doesn’t have any lines available for the midweek MACtion games. Buffalo’s already a 13.5-point favorite to Bowling Green, and I’m pretty confident that the Bulls can cover that without too much of an issue.
HIGHEST SCORING GAME?
- NIU at Kent State
Kent State should be a team that moves the ball a lot and scores plenty of points. NIU didn’t come into the year with those expectations, but this year has proven that these Huskies know how to rally and score points before a needing a push in the fourth quarter.
COMBINED OVER/UNDER: 72.5 TOTAL POINTS SCORED BY BALL STATE + NIU
It’s a ton of points to chase, but Ball State might be able to deliver with Akron on the schedule. NIU and Kent State will probably feature 1,100 yards of offense, so there better be some points to show for it.
OVER/UNDER: BUFFALO QB KYLE VANTREASE 194.5 PASS YARDS VS. BGSU
Vantrease hasn’t had too many huge days on the stat sheet as a passer, but he still gets his chances in this offense. Plus, if the run game gets working as it should, then Vantrease probably won’t get any more than 20 throws against the Falcons.
