Hello and welcome (back) to the 2021 MAC Pick ‘Em!
We’re really at the halfway point of the year which used to feel somewhat depressing, but I”m overall just really excited to see what the back-half of the year has for us all. Every league around the country is up for grabs (sans Georgia?) and the Mid-American Conference is no different.
Our Pick ‘Em pool isn’t exactly sealed yet either. Far from it, friends.
WEEK 7 RESULTS & LEADERBOARD
Most of last week’s entrants had a pretty good week. Shouts out to Karp for being the only one to go 6-0 in his week’s picks. Almost everybody else that joined went 4-2 with common trip-ups by “Toledo over CMU” and “EMU over Ball State” picks. But you’d probably be happy to learn that yours truly went 5-1 last week.
The highest-scoring game of the week was an easy one: Kent State at WMU. That game finished with 95 total points scored. Almost everybody got the easy money (10 points) with that question.
The combined OVER/UNDER for total points scored by Kent State and BGSU was set at 52.5. The pool was pretty split over this one, but the OVERs had it as the teams combined for 57 points on Saturday.

MY PICKS: WEEK 8
REFER A FRIEND!
Refer a friend who hasn’t joined this pool yet, and you both will get 15 extra points for their first set of picks. We’ll be doing this every week for the rest of the season.
PICK ALL OF THE MAC TEAMS THAT WILL WIN THEIR GAMES
- Ball State (vs. Miami OH)
- Buffalo (at Akron)
- EMU (at BGSU)
- Kent State (at Ohio)
- NIU (at CMU)
- WMU (at Toledo)
DOUBLE OR TRIPLE?
The three games I feel most-confident in picking this week are:
- Buffalo at Akron (UB win)
- EMU at BGSU (EMU win)
- NIU at CMU (NIU win)
LOWEST SCORING GAME?
- Miami at Ball State
There isn’t great, in-depth analysis here. I don’t truly feel like there’s a game that absolutely stands out to pick for the weekend’s lowest-scoring games
COMBINED OVER/UNDER: 58.5 TOTAL POINTS SCORED BY EMU + WMU
WMU’s absolutely rolling on offense, but Toledo’s defense could slow them down. EMU’s very capable of beating BGSU, but the BG defense might limit some of EMU’s offensive drives. Still, I’m a good boy from the better state and things look good for the two directional Michigans to take care of some teams right across the border.
