Blah, blah, blah; I’m currently on vacation so let’s get to it.
WEEK4 RESULTS & LEADERBOARD
RESULTS
Some games everybody in the pool got right: Buffalo over Old Dominion, NIU over Maine, Akron losing at Ohio State, and Ohio losing at Northwestern. Everybody got the BGSU upset over Minnesota wrong, which means that the best record anybody put up in their game picks this week was 10-1, which was achieved by three: Fitz, Rick Sanchez, and yours truly.
Last week I asked who you thought the top receiver in the Ball State vs. Toledo game would be by yards. The correct answer was Ball State’s Justin Hall (97 yards), which four of you got. Other popular picks were Devin Maddox and Yo’Heinz Tyler.

I got the form up earlier in the week, but I didn’t get this post up as soon as I wish I would have. Still, most returning friends have already made their picks.
Note: There are bonus points available if you refer a friend when they make their first picks.
Good luck on your picks!
MY PICKS: WEEK 5
REFER A FRIEND!
Refer a friend who hasn’t joined this pool yet, and you both will get 15 extra points for their first set of picks. We’ll be doing this every week for the rest of the season.
PICK ALL OF THE MAC TEAMS THAT WILL WIN THEIR GAMES THIS WEEK
Teams check off here are your predicted winners. Unchecked teams are picked to lose. 10 points for getting the game’s winners right, -5 points for getting the games winners wrong. Simple, eh?
My picked winners:
- Akron vs. Ohio
- CMU @ Miami
- EMU @ NIU
- Kent State vs. BGSU
- Toledo @ UMass
- WMU @ Buffalo
My losers (unchecked):
- Ball State vs. Army
- BGSU @ Kent State
- Buffalo vs. WMU
- Miami vs. CMU
- NIU vs. EMU
- Ohio @ Akron
DOUBLE OR TRIPLE?
The three games I’m most confident in picking correctly this week:
- BGSU @ Kent State (Kent State to win)
- Ohio @ Akron (Akron to win)
- Toledo @ UMass (Toledo to win)
MOST RUSH YARDS IN WEEK 5?
Lotsa good running backs to pick through, but my pick goes to CMU’s Lew Nichols (at Miami).
COMBINED OVER/UNDER: 47.5 TOTAT POINTS SCORED BY OHIO + BGSU
Ohio’s going to Akron and BGSU is headed to Kent State. How many points will the two away teams put up in their respective MAC East road trips?
I don’t know who’s going to do the heavy-lifting here (it’s BG), but I went ahead and picked the over here. If you check the pool’s leaderboard, you’ll see that under is the actual right answer. But then again, I did rebound just fine with a 10-1 record in my game picks last week.
