Quian Williams, formerly of Eastern Michigan, will stay in the MAC and transfer to Buffalo and join Maurice Linguist’s new group.
Williams was one of the more talented wide receivers on EMU’s roster and was a full-time starter in 2019, but only used part-time in 2020. In 2019, Williams was third on the team in total targets (61) and second in receptions (52) and receiving TDs (6). Per Pro Football Focus, Williams received the highest receiving grade of any player on the team in 2019 (83.5), but his usage sort of dropped in 2020. The pandemic was one thing, but Tanner Knue, former walk-on, received a lot of attention with Preston Hutchinson in at QB — Knue and Hutchinson grew up and went to HS together. Williams two-year stat line at EMU: 76 receptions, 983 yards, 8 TD. As a return man in 2020, he returned 12 kicks for 216 yards.
Williams will have two more years of eligibility, and is immediately eligible to play with the Bulls this season.
