Bowling Green’s season-opening date got moved up to Thursday, Sept. 2. Kickoff will be at 8 p.m. that night, and the game will be on SEC Network.
Tennessee, now under Josh Heupel, wants to take advantage of this opportunity for — you guessed it — potentially more eyeballs on this should-be ass beating to get an earlier gameday recruiting bump at the national level. How this benefits Bowling Green is… well, uh, a broader more national audience to see how bad of a hire Scot Loeffler really was? Unless BG can make an interesting game, or even an interesting first half (both of which are way outside the scope of my imagination) then I don’t see how this benefits the Falcons. Hopefully BG’s getting paid more money for the eyeballs that’ll be on this game to kick off the 2021 season, because this is a game that a Loeffler-coached team shouldn’t be involved with in the first place.
